MUSINGS FROM MULL - A Review by Caroline Bennie February 18, 2021 David Page I would say my favourite is Wolf Moon because it draws you in to keep walking until you reach the blue sky. Then Saltire because it’s mysterious and then Forest as you feel like you are actually there, standing in the forest. Beast from the East. Captures the kind of day when you just want to get home and indoors and look out of the window at the view. Saltire I think this draws you in through the clouds and makes you feel you are getting taken to the end of a tunnel. Wolf Moon Makes you feel like you want to keep walking until you reach blue sky before the it covers over with blackness. Mysterious. Daybreak’s Lament Love the way it captures the mist coming through a cloudy sky - like you want to hurry home before you can’t see where you are going. Long Night Moon Captures the feeling it’s been a lovely clear night but now night-time is totally coming. Aurora Borealis Reminds me of going up through Glencoe - mystical. Bealach I love the way the sky colours look like they have just burst through the middle of the landscape. Gualann It is unusual the way the clouds are floating over the landscape - like looking at the mountain through a veil. Druim I like all the different colours in the sky. Coire I like the way the light looks like it is hiding behind landscape and peeking out. Stuc Sneachda I love the clouds being all different shapes. Creag It’s mystical the way the sky and the landscape are similar but you can still tell them apart. Blossoming Draws your eye up to the unusual sky. Balmy I love all the different colours floating in and out of the clouds. Quinish Takes your eyes to explore all the different colours. Bellowing Clouds look like they are pushing you through the landscape. Abode of Demons The sky is magical. Blizzard This reminds of going through Glencoe and into stormy weather. Buffeting Torrents of wind that will be pushing you off your feet. Blustery The day that has been nice but now clouds are drifting in. Battering Going to be a storm - clouds are lovely colours. Brutal Total sky of darkness with the blue sky vanishing way in the distance. Bracing A day where the clouds and their darkness are now creeping in. Brisk A lovely day for a walk. Billowing A sky that you don’t know what it’s going to do… Brilliance A sky that hopes the weather might change to sunny. Ballooning The sky is swirling and forming into a mystical circle. Beckoning It will be getting dark soon. Forest Colours that capture the different shapes in a forest - looks like you could easily get lost. Winter Muirburn Looks like it has been an intense day The Gull An uplifting day. Cloud Clearing Clouds might go away and sun might break through to reveal a lovely blue sky. Goodbye Sun The dramatic colours after a lovely day. Volcano Sky Looks like lovely colours have erupted from the landscape and they don’t know which way to go. Calve Island Peaceful Overfalls I like the way the different colours integrate. Staffa Surge I like the way the water is battering off the rock face with such force. Disturbance A mixture of when you are in the landscape you don’t know whether to go left or right. Found Land You have been walking and you can now see the light coming through a shaded landscape. Wild West Waves A choppy day on the water. Moon Tides The moon is glistening over water. Atlantic Breakers I like the waves coming in and the spray floating over the sand and rocks underneath - reminds me of Calgary Bay.
